Jared Simms, James Teej, and Voytek Korab, in a space of a few short years, have become a central part of the global electronic music scene. Their My Favorite Robot production project has seen successful releases on cutting edge labels like Crosstown Rebels and Visionquest. While their record label of the same name has hosted an impressive artist list with talented acts like Tiger Stripes, Sasse, Tim Paris, and Emerson Todd. Since 2008 this dynamic label has been known as one to impress and their next release by production duo, DeadEcho, does not let us down.
Made For You is a five track journey into a unique sound that lies somewhere in the realm of house with tasteful elements of classic techno and the new school deep house sound that have been heavily charting. With three originals and two remixes, the package has a little something for all electronic fans to enjoy. Their title track, Made For You is a subliminal production with analog electro influences, on top of bouncy kick drums, with a hypnotic vocal sample. Accompanying this title track is a remix by shared label owner James Teej, that adds a deeper and darker twist on the original with dreamy pads and arpeggiated rhythms. The second original track, entitled, Milkshake, is a booty shaking stomper with plucky bass sounds, minimal acid elements, and a catchy vocal hook. Tim Paris gives Milkshake a deeper vibe with his remix, as well as adding more of a traditional house arrange. The final original track on the EP, Speed Demon , only adds more flavor to the release already filled with acid house influences and compelling breaks.
Rob Bradley and Adam Firman, the duo behind DeadEcho, have seen success with their own label imprint, Save You Records, as well as their two London residencies where they have played alongside the likes of Ryan Crosson, Lee Foss, and Subb-An. With a list of forthcoming 2012 releases, DeadEcho‘s Made For You release gives us an insight into what the future will hold for this groundbreaking project. All they ask of us is to listen, enjoy and find something in their beats that makes us smile and wiggle on the dance floor.
